Perhaps a bit of a strong topic but I'm feeling saucy. :-)
I'm not a fan of religion and here's why. I'm the kind of person who's happy to go along with most things, as long as they're not harmful. The problem is that every religion I've ever heard of justify doing extraordinarily horrable things to people. Religious nuts go around blowing themselves up and taking a street with them, telling people not to wear condoms and thereby encouraging population increases, waging wars over land, tell people that being gay is wrong.. etc
These abhorant attitudes stop me (and possibly others) from ever even considering any religion. It becomes less of an issue about believing in the existance or not of God, and more about being associated with idiots and thugs.
I'm an agnostic, I'm not sure about the existance or not of God. I've never experienced anything to convince me either way. I do however think the following: Taken that God exists and is unfathomable to the human brain because God is too vast and powerful to understand for us, think about the humble ant. We (to them) are like Gods. We are so powerful that they can't comprehend us, they just go about their business. If the fancy tolk you, you could lean down and snuff out their lives with the greatest of ease, or give them a treat of sugar which would last them a life time. If you do believe in God, and hope he or she is kind and benevolent, then treat others (including the tiny little ant) with the same kindness as you would like to be treated.
Anyhoo, rant over :-)
Move along there.. nothing more to see here..

I think it is important to distinquish between religion and its message and people miss interpereting and using their religion to justify their actions, like suicide bombers or groups of people trying to unite people in the name of religion to execute some other underlying motives.
